What we make

Outerwear we make

Name the shell, the lining and the hardware; the factory built for structured work quotes.

Styles

  • Work and chore jackets
  • Bomber and coach jackets
  • Coats
  • Structured and formal jackets

Fabrics

  • Cotton twill and canvas
  • Wool and wool blends
  • Denim
  • Lined or unlined

Trims

  • Zips, snaps and buttons
  • Lining and interlining
  • Embroidery and patches
  • Labels, folded and bagged

Complex hardware (zips, buckles, magnetic closures, molded parts) is often imported into India. That adds cost and a lead-time dependency: confirm trims before you approve the sample.

Where outerwear is made

Structured pieces go where structure is the everyday work; winter layers go to the winter cluster.

What it costs

What a jacket costs to make

Construction and hardware move a jacket’s price most. The calculator shows how much structure adds.

Typical cut, make and trim

  • Trims and packaging8–12%

  • Wastage and rejects3–6%

Share of FOB, market ranges from published industry sources. They won’t total exactly 100% on any one style. Fabric moves your price more than any haggling on the making charge.

    Making outerwear in India

Five questions brands ask before a first run.

150 pieces per style across our group. Structured pieces for larger programs sit best in Bangalore, which is not the place for very small orders; we confirm the exact minimum with the factory before you commit.

Typical cut, make and trim is $28–65 per jacket before fabric. Our calculator estimates $35.00–$75.00 per piece ex-factory at 300–500 pieces, standard construction. These are estimates; the factory quotes after reading your brief.

Zips, buckles, magnetic closures and molded components are frequently imported into India. That adds cost and a lead-time dependency you don’t control, so name the hardware in the brief and confirm it before you approve the sample.

Usually not. Bonded seams, laser cutting and technical synthetics are not India’s depth. For cotton, wool and structured jackets it works well; for performance shells we will tell you plainly if it doesn’t fit.

Plan 3–5 weeks for sampling, then 12–16 weeks from approved sample to goods shipped on a first order, and 8–10 weeks on a repeat. Imported hardware can add its own lead time.

Diwali (October or November, date moves every year) closes most factories for 1–2 weeks.
